JUBOSIL ANTIK translucent silicate paint
JUBOSIL ANTIK is a translucent silicate paint intended for decorative treatment of interior and exterior wall surfaces. It is distinctively translucent and its special, yet simple manner of application provides an interesting, unevenly spotty and archaic appearance to painted surfaces.
a) preparation of the substrate:
The substrate can be dry, solid, fine or roughly plastered wall surfaces (lime and lime-cement renders). If they are painted for the first time, coat them with diluted JUBOSIL GX (JUBOSIL GX : water = 1 : 1) or a diluted paint (JUBOSIL ANTIK : water = 1 : 1), and with JUBOSIL EX if they have already been painted. Shining of dark and dirty substrates through the final paint application is reduced or prevented by painting them with white JUPOL SILIKAT or white JUBOSIL FX. Primer should dry for at least 24 hours.
b) painting:
JUBOSIL ANTIK is available only in white colour, but by tinting it on JUMIX tinting stations or mixing it with UNITONS (up to 20%) suitable for tinting of silicate paints (shades 1 to 7, 9 and 15), a wide palette of more or less intensive colour shades can be achieved. The paint is most frequently applied using a flat brush in one to three coats (techniques “wet on wet” or “wet on dry” – after 2 to 4 hours), the desired appearance can also be achieved by using painting rollers, pads, or suitable cloths, which help either remove or add paint on individual places to achieve a suitable, unevenly thick application.
consumption JUBOSIL ANTIK some 100 ml/m2 for the first application and some 60 ml/m2 for the second or the third ones; you will need ~80 to 100 ml/m2 of JUBOSIL GX as a primer (you may need some for eventually necessary tinting of the paint) or ~300 ml/m2 of JUBOSIL EX (stated information is applicable in case of fine plastered surfaces)
if you are going to tint JUBOSIL ANTIK yourself, you will need a small amount of UNITON in a selected colour shade and ~100 to 200 ml/m2 of JUPOL SILIKAT or ~100 to 200 ml/m2 of JUBOSIL FX to pre-paint dark or dirty substrates (stated information is applicable in case of fine plastered surfaces)
