Scratch decorative renders

MINERALNI STRUGAN OMET

  • industrially prepared mortar mixture for production of vintage thick-coat scratch renders
  • natural white
  • original decorative appearance, typical of traditionally produced scratch façade renders
  • highly water-repellent, water-vapour permeable
  • suitable as the final coat for plastered substrates of all types of non-isolated walls, for protection of all types of thermal or thermal insulating and renovation renders as well as the final coat in various thermal insulating systems
The substrate must be rough enough (coarse), solid, dry and clean. If necessary, groove the surface of basic coats adequately when it is still wet. Border the wall surface, onto which render will be applied, with appropriately thick wooden distancing laths. Their outer surfaces should define the level of the scratched surface so that after scratching the thickness of the render will not be less than 8 mm at any place. Mortar compound is applied manually – by plastering trowel - or by machine. If necessary, moisten the substrate with water a day prior to the application. Recommended coating thickness is 10 to 15 mm. At the same time, make sure that all surface points of the applied render lie at least 2 to 3 mm above the level of scratching or above the level of outer surfaces of the distancing laths. In approximately 6 hours the application is hard enough to be evenly scratched by a special steel knife or a special scraper while removing as thin a coat of the render as possible (only up to outer surfaces of distancing laths).

The joining of surfaces in corner edges is facilitated by installing finely smoothed stripes which have got a width of only a few centimetres. Such stripes are recommended also when dividing big façade boards to several smaller ones to avoid any trouble at application of the render and unaesthetic appearance due to a surface, which may not be even enough, and, at the same time, by applying the stripes interesting decorative effects can be achieved.

Painting of the render is possible in 3 to 4 weeks after application..

To process a m2 of the surface, you will need ~25 kg of  MINERAL SCRATCH RENDER
