An award for exceptional achievements in the economy to the Chairman of the Management Board of JUB Group!

According to Finance, JUB is one of the hidden champions of Slovenia, whose beginnings date back to 1875, when the mill owner Viktor Gale started to produce paint in a town near Ljubljana. Management of a company, which was over 100 years old when Štefan Hoyer took over the management, was a task which involved a lot of responsibility – also due to the commitment to the year-long tradition. Hoyer. together with JUB, weathered difficult periods, break-up of the former common state, privatisation and exceptional growth during the economic boom. JUB Group is currently one of the most important Slovenian multinationals.

Štefan Hoyer told Finance newspaper: »When I took over the job of Director in 1982, I was very young, inexperienced, everything was somehow on a very simple level. Despite having finished faculty studies, I did not feel I learned something to use in practice. Sometimes, I actually wonder how one man can survive such different periods, from extreme under-development to today's high technology development, from self-management to capitalism«. He thinks he was able to survive with a strong work ethic, honesty, fast learning and readiness for change.

And his objectives? He is planning his retirement in two year's time, so he has been preparing his successors for the past two years. »In the business sense, JUB has good marketing, human resource and technological foundations, which makes for a good basis for further development. Despite stiff competition I think we have enough reserve to be better and to successfully fight for market shares«, says Hoyer.
